Well, I’m at JFK — will fly away to Washington DC in a couple of hours.

I was deeply moved Thursday night, when a veritable THRONG of New Yorkers came out to bid me farewell. I can’t tell you how much that means to me. I may be returning to the city of my birth, but I will always have a large, soft spot in my heart for my adopted city, to which I will return for FREQUENT visits.

However, unlike the dark ages of my childhood, the usual ways of reaching a person tends not to change much after a move anymore. I will still have the same cell phone number, email address, Facebook account, and of course, this blog!  In fact, you’ll probably hear from me more often here (and over at the CitizenJoe blog). My plans in DC are more compatible with regular blogging than the roller coaster that has been my work life since my industry basically blew up!

Well, that’s it for now. Stay warm and take a moment to appreciate this gorgeous city in which you live.
